The Kalsa district

The Eletta, the Emir’s favourite square during Arab rule. A neighbourhood full of historic buildings, workshops and craft boutiques. Not to be missed are Palazzo Abatellis,  Palazzo Chiaramonte-Steri with the famous Vucciria painting by the artist Guttuso and the Museum dedicated to the period of the Holy Spanish Inquisition.

Piazza Pretoria with its fountain of the same name, and churches of Saint Caterina of Alessandria, very famous for the cloister and its pastry shop inside.

One of the neighbourhood’s gems: the Museo Antonio Pasqualino and its puppet shows.
